CUE 8 Licenses for CUCM 7

Is there any different licenses used for CUE when it is used with CUCM ? Currently we are using CUE with CME and now we want to use CUE with CUCM but when i am trying to run following commands , i am getting errors given below--

VM(config-jtapi)> ctiport 28001
Operation not allowed with current installed license

VM> show ccn status ccm-manager
Operation not allowed with current installed licens

CUE version 8.X and CUCM version 7

Do i need to donwload seperate Licenses for CUCM in CUE ? If yes then what is name of licenses ?

If i do not need to download sepeate licenses then can i just switch CME to CUCM call agent in CUE ?

Hi there,

+5 to Nadeem for his thoughts here!

Just thought I would add that the "license"  limitation/restriction did change with the release of CUE 7.1(x)

Configuring the Call-Agent

Beginning with Cisco Unity Express version 7.1 and the use of CSL licenses, the call agent is no longer determined by the license.

However, you must configure the call agent by selection whether you are using Cisco Unified CME or Cisco Unified Communications Manager, using one of the two following methods:

•During the post-installation process

•After the service module boots up using the call-agent command

Cheers!

Madhav,

If your CUE is 8.x  and its integrated with CUCM.

The command is as simple as  "call-agent ccm".

+5 to Nadeem and  Rob for a detailed explanation.

Here is a document  CUE/CUCM/JTAPI integrtion for your reference:

Hi Kevin/Rob/Nadeem,

Just to make sure that i got it correctly. In my case, there is no need to have new licenses for CUCM in unity. All i just need to change the call agent in unity express via "call-agent ccm" command . Correct ?

Hi Madhav,

Yes your Right. You would not require any license if your using CUE 8.X.

-Regards,

Kevin
