Hello,
I ran into an issue in setting up CUPC soft phone in CUCM. Out standard user ID is john.doe@test.com. However in CUCM device setting it only accept a certain format, UPCXXXXXX with a max of 12 characters in cap only. I searched Cisco documents. It mentioned change john.doe to JOHNDOE or john_doe to JOHNDOE but there is no mentioning of how to change an email address naming format. I tried different combination. None work.
Please helps.
Thanks
Mark

In CUPC 7.x (or earlier version), you may strip any non-alphabet/non-numeric characters. For example, if the user id is john.doe@test.com, the device name would be UPCJOHNDOETESTC. (first 12 characters after stripping).
In CUPC 8.x, you may use any device name. There's no need to match user ID.
