Hi there,

A customer wants the following configuration:

A telephone should be forwarded to reception till 17.00 and after 17.00 it should be forwarded to a hunt list.

Customer got cucm 6.1. Is this possible with day and night routing? If yes, please give me a link how to configure it. Any other suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Following the previous post by Java, you will find that the Time of Day routing is covered in the system guide:-

See the following URL.

Hi Sana,

Just to add a note to the great tips from Java and Allan :)

Check out this this excellent Cisco Learning presentation on Time of Day Routing;

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply. In all the examples it's talking about creating another Partition. Is there any way to apply Time of Day Routing on the same Partition?

no, the whole principle of TOD is based on showing/hiding the partitions involved which need to be 2 and only one active at any time

This should be possible, however you need to be aware of the consequences if you configure a schedule and apply it to an existing partition.

This partition could be used by other endpoints which you do not necessarily want the schedule to apply too.

If I understand your situation correctly, you effectively have a DN assigned to your Reception which should receive the call in-hours upto 17:00 and then route to a different DN after 17:00.

In order to achieve this create a unique partition PT_Reception_InHrs and then create a Time Schedule with the available time periods 09:00-17:00.

Create a second partition PT_Reception_OutHrs and assign a different Time Schedule with the available time periods 17:00-24:00, 00:00-09:00.

Either create a translation-rule or assign the reception DN to PT_Reception_InHrs which transforms to the actual Reception DN/Pilot.

Create another translation or DN with the same number as above and assign it to PT_Reception_OutHrs which transforms or CFA to the actual Hunt-List.

The partitions will be added to the appropriate CSS for either the incoming-gateway or the end-users CSS with InHrs first and OutHrs second.

This will ensure that when a call comes in either external or internal it will first match InHrs partition if the call is out of scope then the OutHrs partition will be matched and the call routed according to the translation rule or DN.

This is a rough guide of how it should work.
