Demote a Publisher to Subscriber

Hello All,

Can I demote a server installed as publisher to a subscriber?

Kindly advise on the step-by-step procedure or where I can get a guide on the procedure.

Which product are you using?

Sorry there is no procedure to demote a Publisher or Premote a subscriber in CUCM or CUC at this time.

Can I ask why you wish to do this?

Hello Craig,

Thank you for the response.

The server was installed as a cold standby publisher but the number of devices on the existing has grown such that there is a need to have an additional backup server as subscriber and join it to the existing cluster.

Unfortunately this means you'll need to reinstall the server and just do the regular procedure of adding a subscriber.

Java's answer is spot on, in honesty this isn't a great deal of work to erase and reinstall the server as a new subscriber server.
