Client has Unity 1.x.  I know it's pretty old.  BUt looking at alot of documentation, the device notification concept is similar.

Currently the users are unable to recieve text notification or email notification.

I follwed the following steps:

1. configured the unity connection server to relay messages to a Smart host. In this link.  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/1x/administration/guide/acm150.html#wp1042694

2. I ocnfigured the user's device notification for SMTP.  I put the user's email address.

3. I tried to set it up for text messaging and that did not work also.

Can someone please help me out.  What am i doing wrong?

shirwaziri1_2,

Where are you putting in your smarthost? It should be in Unity Connection Administration.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/7x/administration/guide/7xcucsagx/7xcucsag200.html#wp1049796.

Also make sure that your Outdial restriction tables are set correctly.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/7x/administration/guide/7xcucsagx/7xcucsag110.html

CSS/Partitions are set on the CUCM side. Navigate to your voicemail port section in CUCM and check what CSS is assigned to the ports themselves and make sure that the CSS has access to call out.

Hope this helps!

Is the smart host set up to allow messages from the IP of your Unity Connection server?

For call notifications, you will have to make sure that the CSS assigned to the voicemail ports have the correct access to call out.

George,

Thanks for replying.  The smart host is setup in IIS.  it does not allow me to put in the IP, i have to put the DNS name.  I know that DNS name is ok, cause i can ping that smart host name and it replys.

Also, how do i check to see if the CSS that are assigned to the voicemail port have correct access to call out?  I beleive Unity 1.x does not support Partitions / CSS.

I have attached the ports details and the smart host details so you can see what I did.

As i desperately look for the problem, i bumped into the following documenation.  I helps with troubleshooting a outbound call from Unity.  (I believe) well, i am going to check it out.  But anymore assistance or suggestion, would really appreciate it.

Thanks
