dial-peers and preference how it works?

Hi,

I have configured on CME three dial-peers as following:

dial-peer voice 101 pots

preference 1

destination-pattern [0,1,3,8].T

port 0/1/1

!

dial-peer voice 102 pots

preference 3

destination-pattern [0,1,3,8].T

port 0/1/0

!

dial-peer voice 105 voip

translation-profile incoming In-Sip

translation-profile outgoing out-Sip

preference 2

max-conn 2

destination-pattern [0,1,3,8].T

session protocol sipv2

session target sip-server

dtmf-relay rtp-nte

codec g711alaw

no vad

voice translation-rule 1

rule 1 /.*/ /0811930XXXX/

!

voice translation-rule 2

rule 1 /0811930XXXX/ /200/

!

!

voice translation-profile In-Sip

translate called 2

!

voice translation-profile Out-Sip

translate calling 1

port 0/1/1 and 0/1/0 are two FXO with simple pstn line.

all dial-peers are admin and operational UP.

I have noticed when we do an Outbound call and the dial-peer 101 is already in use the CME routes the call directly on the dial-peer 102 with preference 3, and it jumps the dial-peer 105 with preference 2 that should have a higher priority rather dial-peer 102.

If I remove the dial-peer 102, when I do a call and the dial-peer 101 is in use the CME simply refuse the call.

What I have doing wrong?

Thanks for all help.

Can u please post:

sho dialplan number (number being dialed)

debug voice ccapi inou when dialing

Are you sure call is not being rejected in dial-peer 105 because of your translation profiles and then re-routed?

can u shutdown both pots dial-peer and test voip calls using this 105 dial-peer?

Gonzalo

Also, post your sip-ua config to see what you are pointing to. I would suspect that the issue is the sip communication, are you authenticating to the sip trunk or whatever you are pointing to via sip. Can you post "debug ccsip messages"?

Chris

Thank you very much Mr. Gonzalo for your help.

Using the debug command I've seen that the preference was working good. The problem was in the configuration of the dial-peer 105. As you can see there was an error in the name of the outgoing translation-profile. Simply a case sensitive error (I know... i'm a newbie).

I Apologize for the time that you have lost.
