hi,
we have a problem we we dial the pstn outside number that start with 212.... the call will be send to the local ipphone in cme environment.
how to say the cme system to collect all the digit and select the appropriate dial-peer for the calling.image you unhook the cardle and intent to call 2123456 (a landline pstn) ,as soon as you hit the 212 immediately goes to the cme local ipphone.
Local cme ipphone extension range is 2xx
ephone-dn 23 dual
number 212

Hello because the 212 is more specific than .T, configure the pstn dial-peer this way:
dial-peer voice 55 pots
destination-pattern 9T
voice-port 0/1/1

Hi,
You NEED to change the DNs that start with or are 212
You can not expect the call to route outside when the number is matched inside.
A simple answer would be to use an access code for the PSTN usually a "9"
So 9.2123456 will route to PSTN the 9 would be dropped if yiou used a dial peer
dial-peer voice 55 pots
destination-pattern 9T
voice-port 0/1/1

we cannot use any code before as it is a client requirment ...i changed the voip dial-peer to
destina-pattern 212.... i mean there might be a way to tell the system to collect the digit first and match the exact dial per instead just going to dial what the first match is
01-17-2012 06:29 AM
can you change the DNs of the ip phones? like a code site?
01-17-2012 06:42 AM
no
leonardotadeu we cannot make any changes in dn's

Do you have to dial 212 area code as 10 digits?
I belive NY 212 area code requires 11 digit dialing, i.e 1 +212, is the goal to prefix 1 somewhere along the path?

and also i can call other landline without any problem like 211... , 214....,
for 212.... i cannot directly goes to 212 ipphone.

I understand, but why are you attemting to dial 212 area code starting with 2? In order to dial within NY area you need to dial 11 digits, i.e. 1 212 555 1234, so you dial-peer to PSTN should be destination-pattern 1[2-9]..[2-9]...... or
1212[2-9]...... if you need explicit match.

My appologies, I made assumptions.
SO, then you have 2 options only which have already been described:
1. Introduce off-net access code to ensure overlaps do not exist
2. Change DNs to avaoid overlaps

that is not to be done ,if so client will remark us.i was search on net.
how to to put interdigit timeout in cme iipphone might be with this technique we can delay the digit collection and send full digit string like did and help cme to select the dial-peer
01-17-2012 08:44 AM
Well, you are out of options then.
Interdigit timeout would not fix your issue as DNs are immediate match, your only other option would be to implement COR lists and block access to this DN from other DNs, which I doubt is what your want.
Bad design == future consequences

Take a look on this doc to understand the dial-peer matching:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk90/technologies_tech_note09186a008010fed1.shtml
When a voice call enters the network, the router collects digits as follows:
1. The originating router collects dialed digits until it matches an outbound dial peer. (MATCHES THE MORE SPECIFIC)
2. The router immediately places the call and forwards the associated dial string.
3. The router collects no additional dialed digits.
Like Cris said the interdigit timeout will not fix your problem

I agree with Chris, or review your dial-plan with your customer.
