display the full DID number on top line of phone

infuriating, I recall seeing a thread on this but cannot recall the detail. I would like to display the full DID number on the top line of the phone <area code + number > yet have only the extension number < last five digits of DID > appear on the line button of the phone. Can anyone offer guidance? CCM 4.1 7912G 7941G handsets. Thanks

primary line setting >> external phone number mask,

you need to reset the phone as well
