E1 billing

I have a PBX (E1) that doesn't provide me with CDR functionality. BRI data calls into the the PBX out on the E1.

Since I all ready have CUCM with and MGCP gateway connected to E1, I was wondering if I could connect the PBX to my MGCP and have calls through the CUCM so that I can use the Call Manager CDRs.

Think is I need to know what device on the PBX place the call to the PSTN.

Will this work?

Re: E1 billing

Hi, You can enable the CDR and record all the inbound and outbound calls via MGCP GW.  HTH, Marcos

As long as the PBX sends a calling number (ANI), CUCM CDR will work as Marcos mentions.  You will need ANI enabled on the circuit to know what PBX device is placing the calls.  If the E1 is ISDN, it should have calling party capacity.  If it is E1 CAS, it depends on the variant whether it sends ANI or not.

Re: E1 billing

In general, in the CDR file, which field (or conmbination of fields)  that can indicate if the call is inbound or outbound?

Thank you for your help.
