E1 PRI Incoming Call Never reaches Call Control (AVAYA)

Hi Good People,

 

Please help me to find out what exactly is the problem with my VG E1 PRI, incoming calls never reach call control. Call Control Team (Avaya) says, they never receive any logs coming from my router. However, if I check the debug output, the translation rules are correct and the ISDN status is Active as expected. Here is the debug result I mean,

Finally I can make an incoming call working with the configuration like this below.

The reason for why DP 300 is never matched is because it is an incomplete configuration as I outlined in my prior reply. I can't help you if you don't read and act on the advice given.

Trying to make sense of your configuration and it's not really clear to me which dial peers you should be matching. Of course this may be me failing to understand your configuration.

In your debug I see a reference to dial peer 0 which is not normally what you want, and can cause some issues like codec mismatch.  For this specific call, which inbound and outbound dial peers are you expecting to be matched, and have you confirmed that they do in fact match.

I suggest checking dial peer match first, if not already done (debug voip dialpeer inout).

If that's correct then have a look at the H323 traffic to/from the Avaya.

That is not a rule, it’s a port configuration. You’ll need to have a dial peer configured for explicitly matching the calls inbound from the Avaya system.

Could you please share your running configuration and explain what dial peers that you expect to be used and in what direction, inbound or outbound?

Could you also please share the output from debug voip ccapi inout for the call to the Avaya system, with an outline of who makes the call and to what number and an explanation, as detailed as you can, for what the intended call flow is?

Add this to DP 300 to make it complete.

Issue this command under DP100 to remove the port.

Your call is now hitting DP 100 inbound and then DP 400 outbound. AFAIKT this is the DP towards CM, so you'd do not want that to match the calls that are intended to go to the Avaya system. Have you looked at the document that I shared previously? It should explain how you should configure dial peers to work in each direction.

As long as you're happy I'm happy. However the call does not live up to what you asked about in your original post. AFAIKT This call goes to a phone in CM, not to your Avaya system and that is what you asked about initially.

I'm using CUCM only for testing purposes, to make sure the signaling is working properly as I can't verify anything on Avaya's side due to Avaya's maintenance by another team. After that, I redirected the DP to Avaya and now incoming calls are working fine.

The reason for why DP 300 is never matched is because it is an incomplete configuration as I outlined in my prior reply. I can't help you if you don't read and act on the advice given.

So on the outbound leg it appears your first should have matched DP 60.  The second call would only match the gatekeeper controlled DP 50, there's no way for us to tell if that is actually in service.

I suspect there may be a lot of obsolete configuration in this gateway.  For troubleshooting purposes could you shut down every dial peer except those that you hope will be handling these calls?  Quite a few are already shut down.

If some of the other DPs need to remain in service, then can you define their purposes, then we can advise whether they need a tweak or two if they're interfering.

I make a new DP translate the calls to the CUCM because I can't verify anything in Avaya. I delete the existing DP and then create new DP
