E1 Troubleshooting - Line Code Issue

Had issues with one site a few months ago, so followed standard E1 troubleshooting steps and found issue was line code set to AMI rather than HDB3. Easy resolved.

This week exactly the same thing has happened again. Line code has seemingly set itself to non default setting of AMI.

Anyone seen this before?

I think it depends on ios version. and it is possible in some versions.

Hi Paul,

the default line coding for E1 is HDB3. this parameter and framing [CRC/no-CRC4] has to be same on both sides i.e. router and Telco side.

I doubt this can change on its own.
