Early and Delay Offer in CME SIP Mode

linuxchild

Level 1

If I'm not wrong in early offer , codec are negotiated withen the invite message

but with delayed offer the SDP is send with the 200 and the answer is send back with the ACK

so suppose I have call manager is SIP mod

Phone A : 711

Phone B : 729

phone A will call phone B localy

Case1

in Early offer I must hear a fast busy just after  dialing the number of phone B

Case2

in Delayed offer I will hear the fast busy when I try to answer the call

my question how to force CME to use delay offer

because every time I try to call I have Case1 result

What configuration has to be done in CME ?

Regards

You can see a delayed offer call if going from sccp to h323 to sip.

Create an h323 dial peer pair so that dial ing a number from your sccp phone causes a call to leave the router and loop back to itself . Use number translation profiles to break the loop and forward to your sip end point as delayed offer. Use codec transparent on the dial peers.

Good luck. Adam

Hi, linuxchild

please provide the following,

1. detail call flow, like phone A - sip - CME - sip - phone B ?

2. show version, show run of your CME

3. debug ccsip message, debug voip ccapi inout  when the call failed

Rgds/Randy

Hello

thank you for your answer

In fact I'm doing this on purpose , I just want to prove the theory of early and delayed offer

I was able to simulate case 1

but I have pb to create or simulate case 2

the call flow is

Phone A G711 SIP ----CME----Phone B G729 SIP

version 15.1(4)M

again this is for my lab , to see the difference between both methods

so is there a way to create delay offere with CME

Kind Regards

Hi, Linuxchild

To my knowledge, there is no way that we can do it if the originating side is using EO.

Rgds/Randy

Hi

so you mean that CME SIP mode always use EO ??

I will test it tonight and let you know

Hi

Thank you Adam , your config allowed me to simulate delayed offer

I taged this question as solved because the main original question is solved

but I would like to ask you few questions :

1: can I impose early offer if I have a call flow  SCCP phone >> H323 >>H323>> SIP phone

remarks I noticed but I did not have the time to investigate

PhoneA SIP : g729

PhoneB SIP : g711a

PhoneC SCCP : G729

when calling from C to A or B : call is ok and it is delayed offer

when calling from A to B or B to A : fast busy and early offer

when calling from A to C or from B to C : ringing ( I did not check if it is earl offer or delayed offer ) , I see the calling number on phone screen , but when answering I hear nothing and the calling phone keep having a ring back tone

I will try to investigate then be back to you , to give the explanation or to ask you a question

Regards
