em equivalency issues/changes after upgrade from cucm 7.1(3) and 7.1(5)

Hi all,

We have a customer who recently upgraded from cucm 7.1(3) to 7.1(5).

They all use 7962 em profiles,  (some have 1 line/1 speeddial, and others have 1 line/1 blf).

They have always logged into 7942's and their speed dial or blf have always worked.

After the upgrade to 7.1(5) users with 1 line/1 speed dial had their speed dial missing.

Looking at em equivalency in the latest features and services guide 7.1(2), it says the default device profile for 7942's will be used in this scenario (which is 1 line/1blf). Sure enough if we change the default device profile to (1 line/1speed dial) the users with 1 line/1 speeddial profiles work. But it will break users with 1 line/1blf.

I read the em equivalency section as it is behaving as normal now, and should not have worked before. But it apparently was.

Is anyone aware of how this could have been working before, or any em equivalency changes between cucm 7.1(3) and 7.1(5) that could cause this?

(I'm wondering if it was a bug that it was working before)
