When I try to change the DN, I receive a message that states "Add failed. Cannot insert or update pattern. A Hunt Pilot exists with the same pattern and partition."
I've included the Find and List Route Plan Report of the numbers 8040 and 8041. The 8040 number is the actual number the phone is tied too but when I make changes, it goes to 8041 and the phone doesn't reflect it (i.e. External Phone Number Mask).

You have a hunt pilot with 8040... if you want to assign this number to a DN and phone... you will have to delete or change your hunt pilot 8040.
Call Routing > Route/Hunt > Hunt Pilot
