CUCM  CUC  IMP 11.5   9971s, 8851s, 7841s, Dx80s, Sx10-20s. We are looking at implementing EM and I was wondering if there are bugs etc to consider when doing this ?  Like, EM does not work well when you have Jabber, all device types everywhere for us or remote users via expressways or telepresence or ? If anyone might share concerns. I'm hoping it will work fine for everything "out of the box ".  Thanks,

Hi Kent,

We have used EM on 99xx,79xx, 89xx, 88xx and 78xx phones without problems.
EM is old feature and lot of enhancements made to make stable at the
current release. There are always bugs but generally speaking for basic use
and in case of no advanced features in the environment, EM should be
pretty stable.

One of the advanced deployments which I am referring to is , for example,
using 802.1x on Cisco phones with EM. I have seen EM function is broken due
to 802.1x dropping http requests. This was a bug in IOS release rather than
CUCM/Phone. But it definitely impacted functions like EM, Directory, etc.

*Ideally* everything should work out of the box, the EM configuration steps have an interactions/restrictions section which you should review.

Aside from that, yes, there are bugs that can affect EM, but you'd need to review the ones that affect your CUCM release and determine if you might hit one, and need to upgrade CUCM or the phones FW.
