Extension Mobility with E164 as userid and alphanumeric user id set to false

Hi,

On a new system I'm building, I have to use the E164 telephone number as the user id. I was hoping that I would be able to set the Alphanumeric User ID setting in Service parameters to false for Extension Mobility. Unfortunately, when I do that, there seems to be no way to type the + anymore. And with the alphanumeric setting, typing numbers is burdersome...

Is there any elegant solution to this I'm missing?
