External Incoming Calls problem.

Hello everybody,

One of our voice gateway router is  having problem in it. it is not working well and can't receive call coming through. I think call is hitting our router and our router is dropping it.

It is a ISDN BRI router with 2 BRI lines coming in. In CCM manager it is added as MGCP gateway but it has its own dial peer configurations as well. i have checked and it is not receiving any config from CCM manager.

here is the debug for isdn q931.

ISDN BR0/1/1 Q931: RX <- SETUP pd = 8  callref = 0x01
        Sending Complete
        Bearer Capability i = 0x8090A3
                Standard = CCITT
                Transfer Capability = Speech
                Transfer Mode = Circuit
                Transfer Rate = 64 kbit/s
        Channel ID i = 0x89
                Exclusive, B1
        Called Party Number i = 0x81, '510859'
                Plan:ISDN, Type:Unknown

I hope to receive some positive comments from you people. I have checked a few documents and they says the default dspware for 12.24t IOS is 24.3.0 which is shown in the output with other DSPs except dsp 1 and if i am not wrong it is embedded in IOS rather then standalone because i can't see any file in flash which could be DSPware. Any help will be much appriciated.

Hi,

The reason you are getting the dsp error message is because your DSP 1 in slot 0 is bad and it needs to be replaced.

You could use the  "OPEN a TAC" button to have it looked at. Maybe process an RMA if needed.

Hello Payal,

I am not good with Voice but i think ISDN BRI cards don't have any DSP on board, so it means there will be something else that need doing to resolv it or replacing BRI cards will do it?

Do u think that call receiving problem could be because of this DSP issue?

Cheers!

Hi,

Can you please send me the show tech?

Hi,

Please find attached tech information.

Regards,

Amjad

Seems like the PVDM-8 is faulty.

I have replaced my PVDM-8 slot on router and it started working again. Lots of thanks to everybody who was trying to help resolve the issue.

Cheers!
