I have a user who used to use a 7970 IP phone, he would use speaker phone at the same time as headset. He could set the headset as an additional microphone for speaker phone calls when there were a lot of people in his office. This made it easier for people in his office that were far away from the phone to be heard when speaking.
So, he was able to use speaker phone and headset at the same time.
We recently switched to 8841s and this does not work any more, I confirmed it with TAC. So, I was wondering what is the AUX port on the back of the phone for? Is there an external microphone that could be plugged in to it? I can't find much documentation about the AUX port except documents saying that the AUX port exists.
Anybody have any input?
