Hello Experts,
I am upgrading a Panasonic Digital Phone system to CUCMBE 7.1. I am faced with a situation where I have to integrate paging amplifier with CUCMBE. I thought I can do it by assigning FXS port a DN from Intercom partition but that doesn't seem to work. The system doesn't allow me to do that. All the threads that I have read talk about FXS intercom.
Am I missing some here?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
OJ

Hi OJ,
You can use an FXS port without it being in the Intercom partition. Just
choose the same partition that your phones are in. In most cases you will need
a "mid-point" integration piece between the FXS and the Paging Amp. The
TAM-B or TAM-B2 with work perfectly. This part will detect the ring current from
the FXS when the DN for Paging is dialed and answer/bridge the voice across to the overhead system

Thanks Rob,
Appreciate your quick response.
I have one more question. I have DIDs that do not match the 4 digit internal extension. The provider is sending 4 digits. Do i need to create phantom extensions matching the last 4 digits of the DIDs and then forward it to actual extension?
Thanks

Hi OJ.
You are most welcome my friend
It's always good to have a set of "Phantom" Internal-only
DN's for use in Lobby's, Ring-down Help phones, second lines etc.
Let's say the DID range from your provider is xxx-xxx-6200 to 6399
pick a new range away from these like 3300-3399 to use for the new
"Phantom" numbers. Use one of these new Internal DN's for the
4-digit Paging access. You might create 3322 to ring to the TAM-B
which will then bridge to the overhead paging system.
Cheers!

Thanks Rob,
I am still not clear on DID thing. I will give you an example. I haave a DID 1-xxx-633-9420, My internal extension are 600 to 632. My provided is passing 4 digits to me. How can I create an Inbound route so that the DID 1-xxx-633-9420 rings extension 600?
Thanks in advance
