G729r8 to G711

Hello,

Is it possible to transcode 3 simultaneous calls from G729r8 to G711 without any DSP modules. I have Cisco 2811 , IOS 12.4(13r)T11, 2 x VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 cards. In other words how many calls can I transcode between this 2 codecs with Cisco 2811 internal resources?

You need DSP for transcoding...

To know how many DSP you need you can use the cisco dsp calculator here..

Also, you need PVDMs to enable those 2 VWICs assuming you're going to use them.
