Gateway self MRGL

Hi,

We have 2 sites with CUCM 11

Site 1 with SUB 1 and Phone 1 set to MRGL 1

Site 2 with SUB 2 and Phone 2 and GW [through SIP Trunk]  set to MRGL2

So Phone 1 uses site 1 resources.

Phone2 and GW use site 2 resources

When we make a conference from phone 1 to phone 2 then adding a land line through the GW, the land line isn't hearing or heared by the ip phones

When we make the conference from Phone 2, the sound is well heard by all parties,

Changing GW to MRGL 1

The opposite occur to the above. When phone 1 make a conference, voice is heard well

Phone 2 make the conference, land line can't hear or heard

So the GW should be on the same site MRGL with the phone for the voice to be heared

Is the gateway got the resources from its MRGL or from the phone who do the conference. I think it must be from the phone . But the case here tell that the GW got the conference resources from its MRGL that when local phone to gw make the conference , the gw use the same MRGL and the voice go well

But When the remote phone to the gw make the conference, the phone use its MRGL and the GW appear to use its MRGL, so the conference stream is played from the related phone SUB that exist in its MRGL but the GW joined the other SUB in the gw MRGL and it can't hear the conference stream

Is it normal behavior ?

Thanks

Hi there

If you assign MRGL at Gateway level, definitely it takes the precedence. The device who needs the Media resources will invoke the MRGL.

Hope this helps!

Cheers
Rath!
