Globalization and normalization on CUCM 7.1

Dear All,

I have CUCM 7.1.5 and many gateways connected with it ( Central Call processing model). Gateways are connected with CUCM using h323 protocol. I came to know that CUCM uses "+" in order to achieve globalization and normalization (E.164).

My question is that what is Globalization and Normalization? What does it do? IS it helpful in above setup? If so, then how can i configure this?

I would suggest you start out by reading the dial plan section of CUCM SRND, I would recommend reading the latest release for version 9, as it does a really good job of covering it, you can locate the SRNDs for CUCM here:
