I'm working on a CISCO 2821 voice gateway, the IOS version is 15.1(4)M5, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1).

The problem is that the command "show processes cpu" shows huge percentage (93%)

Hi Amin,

Try disbaling SNMP logging/trap  ,as you can see SNMP is taking a toll on CPU.

You can probably try a reboot after that, should fix it.thanks

Hi Deepak,

thank you for your feedback.

how do you disable SNMP process on the router?

You can try below.

no snmp-server enable traps or no snmp-server host.

Indeed, I the thing now is that a big portion of the CPU resources is taken by hidden processes.

how to gain back this big portion of CPU?

Thanks in advance, Deepak.

You can  raise a TAC case for CPU profiling of your router which can give you exact details around the CPU processes cuasing this.

Refer to below doc.
