how to adjust volume on UC500 voicemail

We are using a UC500 with CUE V7.1.3 and analog trunks.  Sound level on voicemails from outside calls varies from very low to so low that the message is unintelligible. It seems that maybe we can use the "input gain" and "oubound attenuation" commands on the voice ports to mess around with this a little bit but I am hesitant to change this because volume levels on voice calls are fine.  If I start messing around with these commands I might end up messing up the volume on voice calls.  Am I heading in the right direction?  Should I be looking somewhere else to fix the voicemail volume?

Thanks,

Diego

Diego,

I happened to check some more similar cases & tweaking the input gain & output attenuation is the only way forward. Nothing to worry about messing existing call quality, they will just get better if the tweaking of these parameters is done carefully & with lot of real-time testing.

Please note that input gain has values from -6 to 14 in dB which means scale is not linear, and also attenuation negative values of attenuation make signal stronger (volume increased) while input gain positive values are making signal louder. For making signal coming into router stronger (louder) you can use input gain 3, which will cause you will other hear louder. Also please try to make attenuation smaller from default 0 to “-3”, this should make signal stronger .

Pls rate the post if it helps.

I had to crank the input gain all the way to 14 but it does seem to help the VM without affecting normal call volumes.

Thank you.

I would do a software update to bot CME and CUE to latest, then check again.
