how to Block Caller id for outgoing calls

I am trying to block caller id from calls generating from non Cisco phones connected to a PABX which connects to a H.323 gateways via an E1.

I have done the following to block calls but nothing is seeming to block it. Any advise what else I need to do?

On H.323 gateway have added these commands.

dial-peer voice 1000 voip

clid restrict

dial-peer voice 2000 pots

clid restrict

Also on the CUCM version 7

Under relevant route pattern > Calling Line ID Presentation as "Restricted"

Also under Device Gateway> Calling Party Presentation as "Restricted"

But still shows up with the DDI when calls are made from the phones.

Anything else I need to do?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Manish.

thanks for your reply.

I have added the following

dial-peer voice 1000 voip

clid strip name
 clid strip

dial-peer voice 2000 pots
 clid strip name
 clid strip

still shows as the default provider CLID

Hi Kaushik,

This might be overridden by telco. Most of telcos will append the default CLID in case they receive invalid one. You can't do antything with it

Thanks all

Is there any way each phone can be configured such that the correct CLID is reflected when it is called from that phone?

Hi,

Sure. But you need to speak with your telco to understand what format are they expecting such as 4 digits, 7 digits, E164, +E164, etc

Once you get this, you can configure digit manipulation on CUCM or gateway to reformat the caller ID as expected by telco

What do you in the debugs Is CLID restricted being from CUCM & VGW to provider. Just check in the debug taking debug isdn q931 if its Telco appending it then you can't control that.
