Is there any way to bypass NTP when installing CUP in VLAN isolation mode.
Plan is
Install CUP8.54
Upgrade to 8.6.3
Restore data from production server 8.6.3

You stage NTP in your isolated environment, either run it off of any Cisco router/switch or there are some Linux apps that can be installed and ran as NTP. There is not bypass or anything you can do it skip it :-(

Hi Muhammad,
You won't be able to complete the installation without NTP reachability.
Take a maintenance window
Best way is to to take backup of running CUPS,take it out of network, install the new server with same IP address and restore the nackup.

So how can I install CUP when production server is already active. Problem is we cannot bring down live server while installing CUP on the different hardware as it going to use same ip address.
Can I skip NTP in wizard mode but after installation and restore data is this not possible to reconfigure NTP?

Hello
When you install the Cisco Unified Presence publisher node, you must specify an external Network Time Protocol (NTP) server to ensure that accurate system time is set on the publisher node. Cisco recommends that you configure the Cisco Unified Communications Manager publisher node as the sole NTP server. This means that all subsequent nodes in the cluster will set the time from the Cisco Unified Communications Manager server. If, for some reason, you do not want to set the Cisco Unified Communications Manager as the NTP server, you must specify at least three other NTP servers. You have to go back to Cisco documentation
Thank you
