Which password do you want to change? Be more specific as the answer varies.

Hi,

For Cisco unified Communication Manager 7.1.3

I need to change the ccmadministrator password, the OS password

For Cisco unity connection 7.1.3

I need to change the adminsitrator password and OS password

Thanks

Kind regards

Rachel

The process is the same for UC Manager and Unity Connections. You can change the Application User password from the CLI using utils  reset_application_ui_administrator_password. For the OS you can only reset the built-in OS password using the

Resetting  Administrator and Security Passwords procedure. Note that you want the administrator password for this scenario, not the security password

Thanks Jonathan,

I tried to go to the link for the Resetting  Administrator and Security Passwords procedure, however it display the following for me ( i have alreayd logon my CCO login)...would you be able to let me know the procedure?  Thanks heaps

kind regards,
Rachel

Forbidden File or Application

The file or application you are trying to access may require additional entitlement or you are trying to access a file with an invalid name. Additional entitlement levels are granted based on a users relationship with Cisco on a per-application basis.

If you feel you have reached this page in error, please try one of the following methods to locate your document:

  1. If you are manually entering the URL into your browser location bar, be sure to include the file name of the page you are trying to access (file names typically end in .htm, .html or .shtml).
  2. Use the Search feature located in the upper right section of this page.
  3. Return to the Cisco.com Home or select a primary site area from the top navigation bar.
  4. Consult with your Cisco Account Manager to confirm you have the appropriate entitlement to access this page.

If you would like to contact someone about this problem, please click on the Contacts & Feedback link below.

Just look up the Operating System Administration Guide. The section is documented in the Log In to Cisco Unified Communications Operating System Administration chapter.

For reference, all documentation can be found from this page: http://www.cisco.com/cisco/web/psa/default.html

Just checking the command for the CLI regarding changing the password for the CUCM 7.1.3 ( for communication manager and unity connection)

Just want to confirm:

1) set password user admin   ---> that is to change the administrator password for the OS?

2) set password user security  --> that is to change the security password on pub and sub

3) what are the difference for the below?  Do I just use the "

utils reset_ui_administrator_password" to change the ccmadminsitrator password for the admin web page?"

--- utils reset_application_ui_administrator_password

--- utils reset_ui_administrator_password

Thanks

Kind regards

Rachel

Rachel,

This should be what you need for 7.1(3) for both CUCM and CUC:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/cli_ref/7_1_3/cli_ref_713.html

This is the CLI reference guide for Cisco Unified Communications Release 7.1(3).  In some cases such as with some "utils" commands, they only apply to CUCM.

Take a look and let us know if you need anything further.

Hey Rachel,

Just to add one other note to the great ideas from Hailey and Jonathan here (+5 each guys!)

Have a look at this thread with great answers from Michael @ Cisco. It is a really

nice overview of the Password/Username reset and recovery procedures
