Hi everyone,

This week i've started to build my ccie voice lab.

I have a couple of cisco routers and a switch.

But i'm struggling whit my preparation.

What i want to do is configure multiple devices

I saw on the internet that you can you  use a 2501 router and configure a terminal server and connect a serial/octo cable whit

8 RJ45 connectors to all of the devices, but the problem is i don't have that kind of cable.

Is there no other solution like telnet put eveything in a range?

There must be a simple solution.

Sorry guys my network skills arnt that good.

So maybe somenone can help me out.

I'm really got stuck here.

This is my equippment:

2x 2811

1x 2621

1x2611

one 3550 poe switch

I assume (because you talk about the 2501 and eight serial connections) that you're talking about connecting up the console ports?

You'd be better to just login to each device in turn with a regular console cable and configure a management IP address on each router or switch, using addresses from the same subnet. Hook up the Ethernet or FastEthernet ports to your switch along with your PC and access them via Telnet (or SSH if you have it configured). Shouldn't take you more than about ten minutes and you only have to do it once - no need to go buying special cables.
