How to get logs from CUCM for initiated calls

Dears,

like in Voice Gateway for initiated calls we can run debugs command like debug voip ccapi inout to know the calling and the called number and the status of the call, matched dial-peer, ... etc

 

Can we do the same in CUCM

CDR is used mainly for call statistics, it is not designed for detailed troubleshooting. Reading cucm logs requires a detailed understanding of how different components function and some practice. It can be a little daunting.

This book is excellent. This is what I always recommend as the starting point..

Yes you can. You will need to enable cucm traces and use RTMT to download them You will also need to know how to read the traces..

is there any way just to know the status of the call like in ccapi codes

CDRs will give you a lot of information about calls. They won't give as much as the traces (such as patterns matched, etc) but, in my experience, usually suffice for 98% of troubleshooting.

What I need the status of the call like if i have an integration by sip with Avaya without CUBE only buetween CUCM and Avaya PABX just i want to know if the call manager forward the call or not

CDRs will tell you, amongst other things:

 

  • Calling Number
  • Called Number
  • Answered Number (so when a call is diverted)
  • Duration
  • Device Names
  • IP Addresses
  • etc..

SIP understanding video on cisco community is awesome.
