How to get the 7841 to do SIP URL dialling on CUCM

Hi all

Can anyone tell me how I can get my 7841 phone t odo SIP URI dialling?

I have put a SIP URI address on my line, I have also set the directory alias partition.

On my phone it does not give me the option for alpha numeric keys so I can dial the SIP URI

Any ideas why this is ?

Why would you ever want to dial URIs from physical phone? The idea for URI dialing is to use it for devices that can easily dial URIs (i.e. video endpoints, Jabber clients, etc) and from physical phones you just dial the corresponding number.

AFAIK the 78XX do not support URI dialing, aside from creating a speed dial with the URI.
