IM & Presence installation 11.5.1.11900 Unrecoverable Internal Error

Hi all,

We have a funky new BE6000 for a customer and the CUCM installation goes without any problem but the IM&P bombs everytime. We've tried 4-5 times till now.

DNS is okay

NTP is okay

Connectivity is okay

But in the end this is the result:

We're opening a TAC-case also now but maybe someone does have a clue why this happens.

The installation bombed with the original VMs deployed on the BE6000 (C220 M4) and freshly made VMs.

Thx for the link. I have seen this document but I cannot find anything relatable. The install log show out of the blue:

This is after the InstallWizard summarizes all installation parameters (names, IP addresses, etc.). Even the post install script has ran.

Can u share show version active from CUCM?

Are u trying to deploy IMP in Restricted or Unrestricted mode?

All nodes within a single cluster must be in the same mode. For example, Cisco Unified Communications Manager and IM and Presence Service nodes in the same cluster must either all be in unrestricted mode or all be in restricted mode.

Hello Aman,

this procedure also failed with the pre-installed VM images which came with the BE6000 hardware.

The software is the restricted version (crypto included). CUCM versie is 11.5.1.11900-26.

I have a similar Problem with the PreReinstalled VM. I just Installed the VM From scratch and it worked.

Please post if you discover the root of this issue.

Did a reinstall on a fresh VM even with the CUCM but to no avail.

Did you added both forward and reverse DNS Entries in DNS Server

Yes. checked and double checked it.

OK What i use to do is change the OVA Capacity.

I remembered i choose 5000 User Capacity for the IMP Server so as to succeed with installation. Please try the same.

Hello all,

we have a reaction from TAC. Our password was longer than 15 characters.

This works:

This is a defect in 11.5.1 versions for both CUCM and IMP. Passwords above 15 characters are not supported

Please follow below procedure for re-installation of IMP with less than 15 character password

Action plan:

* Delete the IM&P node from call manger

* Reboot call manager publisher (in maintenance window)

* Delete the VM for IM&P form Vsphere

* Create a new VM on Vspehere

* Add the IM&P  node back on call manager

* Start the install of IM&P again

I had exactly the same issue and in fact there was a password lenght issue.

I got the same issue adding CUC Subscriber 11.5.1. At the end it was related with the length password too. I got exactly the message: 

 

usr/local/bin/base_scripts/InstallWizard -e ERROR

 

I added the Publisher without problem with the same password, but the issue was faced only with Subscriber.

 

So, I changed Publisher OS password in order to have a minor length and proceeded with the Subscriber installation using the new one.
