Integrating CUE (which is currently registered with CME)with UCM

Hi,

Currently CME (8.6) with CUE(8.6) is configured ,but now it is getting integrated with the newly deployed UCM cluster version 9.1.2 at centeral

location.

Existing IP Phones which are got registerd with the CME will be getting registered with the new UCM cluster at centeral location.CME will only act as a Voice Gateway with SRST.

Currently user voice mail are created in the CUE (Unity express) which is currently registered with the CME. Once we registered CUE with the UCM

cluster, i am having following queries:

  - Is it existing Voice Mails which are currently configured in the CUE are erased once we registered the CUE with the UCM cluster ?

 - Is it we need to do the factory reset to the CUE when we are integrating with the UCM ?

 - Is it CUE 8.6 is compatible with the UCM 9.1.2 ?

Please help me out!!

Thanks & Regards,
Krishna

Hi

Yes, it's compatible: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/compatibility/cuecomp.html

See this doc for info on how to use the 'call-agent' command to set it to CUCM:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/rel7_1/Licensing/CUELicensing_book/Using_CSL.html#wp1092000

Or from the GUI (page 202)

http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/rel8_6/online_help/admin/GUI_PDF/gui_pdf.pdf

I don't believe you need to do a full factory reset as you did pre-7.1, this command deletes 'non-local' config, so local mailboxes, IVRs etc should be intact. It will be things like voicemail networking (VPIM type stuff) that would be lost. Ensure you have a full backup before proceeding.
