Interdigit timeout issue

Hi Guys,

I can vaguely remember this but cant find the answer written anywhere.

We have reduced the T302 timer down to 8 seconds, thats fine, BUT if the caller has lifted the handset so has a line, dials 91 then pauses if they dont enter another digit within 8 seconds it adds another 1 and starts dialling 911, not going down well as you can imagine.

So I am sure i heard somewhere that the system goes off to look for the nearest match which would be the route pattern for 911. Is there are way to stop this or is it a bug (sorry 9.911 not an option)

Help as always appreciated

thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

I believe the timer you are looking for would be the

Off-hook to First Digit Timer, default is 15000 ms

Clusterwide parameters (Device-Phone)

Cheers!

Rob

Hi,

Could you do a route plan report export to csv ans attach it?

I think you are hitting a wildcard route pattern and that is completing 911

Cucm should not be hitting the closes route pattern, if theres no pattern to match just provide a reorder, image otherwise it would create havoc!!

Therefore I think there should be a conflict on your dialplan.

I agree with Robert, if you only dialed 91 and let the phone site an interdigit timeout as you point out should kick in and if there is no matching pattern you would receive reorder or annunciator tone, there must be something being matched, i.e. translation pattern of some kind.

Gents,

yes that what I thought I have just tried it myself, checked the route patterns, translations and directory numbers so no clashes I see.

I put the phone off hook dialed 91 and waited then got the correct "Your number cannot be dialled" message, left it on hook and dialled 91 (as Rob mentiones the off hooker timeout happens here) after 15secs the 91 drops from the screen as expected.

I was testing using an IPC (i am in UK) so dont have the physical access to a local phoen but set my IPC up as if it were.

All I can do is ask them to log the time and day that it happens again and we can take it from there looking at the traces.

It doesnt happen all the time just occasionally as far as I am led to beleive, but then again normally people dial within the 8 secs timer anyway (if off hook)

But thank you all for the prompt replies

Paul
