IP Phone 7962 settings greyed out

Hello, my customer has some 7962 IP phones that were previously working with an all CM version. The CM was migrated to a new server and now when they plug in these same phones they stay in a starting status, without completing registration. Going to settings, only "User preferences" is available, all other options are greyed out, so there is no possibility to check network config, or see status messages. Settings Access is enabled in CM.

We tried to factory reset one of them but it entered a booting loop that never finishes.

I assume the switch ports are ok, because switch is the same and they were able to register a jabber in one of these ports.

By the way, the old CM server is still up. Could it be an issue?

Thank you.

We tried to factory reset one of them but it entered a booting loop that never finishes.:- search the community how to load the firmware on  phone without CUCM. There are number of discussion on CSC and you can also review some videos on YouTube.

I hope the phone will register if you load the phone with latest firmware.

When upgrading the CUCM, make sure to check the existing phone firmware and Default firmware which comes with the new versions. If there exist and intermediate version you need to upgrade the phone firmware to an intermediate versions before upgrading the CUCM.

Upgrade any Cisco Phone FIrmware without Cisco Communications Manager (CUCM). Use your own TFTP server to update Cisco Phone Firmware Here is a link to the XMLDefault.cnf.xml Download this, edit the file for the phone firmware you are using and make sure it is placed in the root tftp directory ...
