Hi All,
the cisco ip phones calls the cisco ip phones normally in both way but when calling from cisco to outside (for example mobiles or national calls), the cisco phone hear the other parties but no one hear what the user say on the cisco phone.
Setup
10.8.4.40 10.8.4.253 10.8.3.1 / 10.8.3.11 loopback IP
IP Phone ----- SW --------- ASA5510 ------------VGW(2911) 15.1(3)T3
IP Phone GW: 10.8.4.253

First port of call would be to make sure that nothing is being blocked on the ASA.I'm not a firewall expert so can't advise the commands to look for .In the past i have used a GUI like SDM but not sure if thats supported on the ASA's.
Check that there is a rule to allow voice in both directions (RTP 16384-32768)

Morning,
Again, im a voice engineer, so I na tip you on this -
The issue will almost certainly be connected to NAT traversal; The RTP stream being setup between the two phonees will not know how to route to the RTP peer (called party phone) to which your phone is attempting to connect.

If it's an H.323 gateway, please ensure you have " h323-gateway voip bind srcaddr ip_address " command in the config.
Do post the gateway router's running config so that we can take a look.
