IP Phone Upgrade register failed - CUCM 8.6

Hi,

I have a 7911 running on a CUCM 7.1.3 with firmware  SCCP11.8-5-3S

I have another CUCM at 8.6 version with firmware SCCP11.9-2-1S

The 7911 on the 7.1.3 is working just fine.

If I plug it on the CUCM 8.6, we see an upgrade with no error but after the upgrade nothing happend, no display, no error .. just a wrong date on the left up side of the screen.

To follow the usual procedure :

We have try to put it back on the 7.1.3 with a SCCP11.8-5-2S firmware then switch back the phone to 8.6 CUCM but no succes.

Cisco procedure :

NoteFor all 7900 series SCCP and SIP phone firmware upgrades from versions earlier than 8.3(3) to Version 8.5(2)SR1 or later,

you must first upgrade your firmware to Version 8.5(2).

Once you have upgraded to Version 8.5(2), you can upgrade your IP Phone to Version 8.5(2)SR1 or later.

HI

Have you deleted the CTL files from the phone. Delete those files and  it will register.
