IP Telephony - Calls not going to voicemail when phone lines are being forwarding between phone A and B

Phone A and phone B lines forward to one another; however, the calls go around and around instead of going to voicemail if none picks up for the initial call. Any solution for this.

When someone calls to Phone A or B- and we do not pick up, it gets forwarded to the other line, and then if that person does not pick up the call comes back to the original line and voicemail picks up but right now it keeps going back and forth.

what sort of call forward is that?  busy no answer?

either way, if you do a call forward destination on a line, rather than ticking the "voicemail box". then obviously the call forward number is used, as bot are mutually exclusive. so use the tick box or the destination, you cant have both.

I am pointing the other number for call forward destination for no answer. Is there any way we can get this resolved by putting call forward destination for no answer to other number and work it.

Just to Clarify -

You have Phone A and Phone B.

You have forward calls between them.

If the Call isn't answered by either you want it to go to voicemail of the original Number.

Option 1:

If they are located close, within hearing distance, simply use group pickup and don't forward.

Operator B - hears phone A ringing - they press pickup, if not answered by either party then goes to Voicemail.

Option 2:

Configure two numbers on both phones (and don't use forward). So operator phone A has two buttons with two lines - First button is operator A and second button is operator B.

and visa versa for operator B. Both can get each other calls and forwards to voicemail if unanswered.

Option 2a:

Configure two buttons on both phones (and don't use forward).

On Operator A

Operator A and BLF B

On Operator B

Operator B and BLF A

Make sure and check the 'pickup' option when configuring the buttons.

Both can get each other calls and forwards to voicemail if unanswered.

Option 3:

And the option I'd use... configure an 'Operator Number', this is configured as a second number on both phones, set the 'No Answer Ring Duration' to 30 seconds.

So

Operator A has DN A and DN 'Operator'

Operator B has DN B and DN 'Operator'

!

Configure all 3 numbers to be in the same group pickup.

Educate the operators, to pickup a call, they press top button and 'pickup' this transfers o their personal line and frees up the operator line for another call.

Plenty of options...

Hi,

What is your call forward destination for no answer? If you are pointing the other phone, it won't go to voicemail. You need to point call forward to voicemail to get it working.

Create hunt-pilot-a and hunt-pilot-b. Phone A should be member of hunt-A and Phone B should be member of hunt-b.

Forward noan for phone a should go to hunt-pilot-b which will ring phone-b. If phoneb didn't answer, call will be forwarded to hunt-pilot-b voicemail (which can be same phoneb voicemail).

Similarly, Forward noan for phone b should go to hunt-pilot-a which will ring phone-a. If phone a didn't answer, call will be forwarded to hunt-pilot-a voicemail (which can be same phone a voicemail).

The idea that hunt-pilot forward settings override member forward settings. This way you achieve what you want.

One thing to take care off is when you forward call to voicemail, you need to mask the forwarding station to same as member number. Meaning if hunt-b forward the call to voicemail b, the forwarding station should be masked so that voicemail system see forwarding station as phone-b instead of hunt-pilot extension.
