Is it possible on an ISE/CME to play a prompt but disabling recording

Hi,

using a ISR1861 with his factory ISE.

IOS 15.0(1)M3 / CME 7.1

Unity Express on ISE 7.0.5

Is it possible to personalyse a voicemail prompt with a message and play the voicemail prompt but without giving to the caller the opotunity to record a message (for exemple just to let te caller now a situation like "away" or something else ?

I know I can do it with IVR and personalised greatings but as I have only standard default one possibility, I would like to hold them for other application.

Configuring an Announcement-Only Mailbox

Beginning in version 7.1, you can configure announcement-only mailboxes. These mailboxes can play the user greeting and disconnect the call only; they cannot take any messages from callers or send messages.

Announcement-only mailboxes enable you to:

•Perform any operations that can be performed on a greeting in personal mailboxes, such as recording or deleting.

•Use all the new greeting types introduced by the multiple greeting feature. For more information, see the Configuring Multiple Greetings.

•Configure a General Delivery Mailbox as an announcement-only mailbox.

Also, announcement-only mailboxes:

•Cannot be part of everyone's list (9999)

•Are counted against the mailbox license

•Have a default size of 5 minutes when they are created, but the default size can be modified later

Because announcement-only mailboxes cannot send or receive messages, you cannot:

•Create distribution lists for them

•Configure notification devices for them

Therefore announcement-only mailboxes cannot:

•Have messages addressed to them

•Have notifications cascaded to them

•Receive broadcast messages

Subscribers can log in to announcement-only mailboxes using either the TUI, VVE, or IMAP. However, there is no reason to use IMAP to log into announcement-only mailboxes because they do not contain messages.

The following features are available only for personal mailboxes and cannot be used with announcement-only mailboxes:

•Message expiration time

•Message size

•Fax configuration

The following operations are available only for personal mailboxes in the TUI and VVE and cannot be used with announcement-only mailboxes:

•Playing new, saved, or deleted messages

•Sending messages

•Setting message parameters, such as configuration lists or notification devices

So, you may need to move to CUE 7.1 to fully accomplish this.

Thanks for the help... I did upgrade to 7.1.7 and folowed the indication on CCO to do it.

So it takes all the needed files from ftp directory but at the end, the ISE was looking for a GB language file that where not present (as I put the FR language in the directory).

The download status was also not done but with an error to get this file.

I did the try to download software ... the cue-vm-fr_FR-langpack.ise.7.1.7.prt1 file and it makes an error after validating package signature:

ERROR: invalid package.Please verify if this is a valid package file

As it was to download on Cisco under the same ISE download location as the main file, I expected it is the right one. Is there an other file to download for French languages as those above?

PS: I had the same error before upgrading to 7.1.7 with my older version 7.0.1 but I couldn't find an other language file for French than tose type of files.

I have seen already that some CUE files are wrong.

You can only try a different version, or contact Cisco for a resolution.

Same for 7.1.6 and 7.1.1....

I did then download the GB file as the upgrade process did ask for it and the download di then finished without error.

The software download status shows the action on done without error.

A show software download directory shows empty directory

And after relogin in the ISE, I see that I'm still under version 7.0.5 as the process wasn't completed.

A reload let the ISE still on 7.0.5.....

Don't know what to do next....

Hi,

The dowload done for 7.1.7. The files are present but I did not start the command install before reload. That was why I hade an empty directory...

Now, the files where present on the ISE and after install package still not working as it makes now an error on installation.

I'll try some other version but I have to do it out of business hours as I did disturb them a lot yesterday with many downloads.... So if I do not have aanswer with the loaded version 7.1.7 before this time, I do try 7.1.x

As the system is not in se but some configs where done, I did do an upgrade.

Does a full new installation have more chance to work?

Do I have to make a backup before upgrade or can an upgrade work without previus backup?

You don't need to copy installation files before upgrade.

All can be done with a single command.

Then if still trouble, do a backup and install from scratch.

By surfing on CCO, I find indication that the licensing has changed between 7.0 and 7.1. I need new CLS files.

As the ISE is buyed with the router, I expect the basic licences are part of the equipement for the minimum of 5 user voice mail and 1 attendant or something like that...

When I do change to 7.1, is there a migration plan free of charge or does the customer  have to buy new licences? (did not find any migration indication for licensing, only compatibility matrixes and description of new licences)

I can't also remenber to get a PAK with the original router (C1861-SRTS-C-B-K9) where the ISE was installed on (I have a secod one on the same customer, but still in version 7.0... So if I do one, I have to do the second to stay on line in the NW as it is easier to manage)

On other question... what is meaned with the payload files missing above in the installation failed?

Migration license can be obtained on the cisco licensing portal, as mentioned many times already in similar threads.

Did open a TAC case.

For information, on ISE, the original licences are not to upgrade as they are part of the systeme.

The upgrade did still faile and we did install them from scratch in 7.1.7. Now it works.

Restor from backup 7.0.5 tu 7.1.7 di work fine.
