is it possible to specify a different URL directory service for a lobby phone?

Hi,

We have a 7841 set up as lobby phone. Now we want to allow visitors to search corporate director for extensions only. I can create another directory server to contain just the extensions. But i am not quite sure if we can specify different URL for this phone only, other phones can access the URL with full information.

Please advise,

thank you

You could try creating two different ephone templates - one for normal phones and one for lobby phones:

ephone-template  1
url services 1 http://x.x.x.x/directory1.xml Directory
!
ephone-template 2
url services 1 http://x.x.x.x/directory2.xml Directory
!
ephone 1
description Corporate Phone
ephone-template 1
!
ephone 2
description Lobby Phone
ephone-template 2

I haven't tested this, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work. Try it out and let us know.

Cheers

Sean

You need to mention what call control you use, and version.

yes i did reset the phone several times. also did no create profile and create profile in voice register global.

it seems that the phone only receive the url directory defined in global service mode, not the one in the template.

thank you for your time.

As this 7841 is a kind of new phone, we have following configs for the pool-type. I don't know if this is really matter.

!
voice register pool-type  7841
 xml-config maxNumCalls 6
 xml-config busyTrigger 6
 xml-config custom sshAccess 0
 phoneload-support
 telnet-support
 num-lines 4
 description Cisco IP Phone 7841
 reference-pooltype 6941
