Jabber Functionality on iOS 26

Hi All,

We have an on prem CM cluster with Jabber 15 deployed to iPhones in the org for phone services only. We are currently looking into migrating to the Webex app due to Jabber's EOL support, however, we would still like to move forward with updating our devices to 26 from 18 in the interim if it poses no specific risk. Is anyone aware whether or not the application functions as expected on the new OS?

For the record, Jabber is not categorically end of life. Cisco can’t kill it off so long as IM&P exists and the Webex app doesn’t support fully air gapped environments. Having said that, the Webex app is certainly the recommended path for everyone that is able to make that migration.

The Jabber iOS 15.1 release notes show that the 15.1.3 build supports iOS 26. You should test for yourself to confirm of course, but it is TAC supported if you find an issue.

Yes, Jabber 15.1.3 is TAC-supported on iOS 26, so upgrading the devices won’t break basic phone services. In practice it runs fine, but you should still test in your environment before doing a wide rollout. Since Jabber is in maintenance mode, Cisco’s long-term recommendation is to plan the migration to Webex app, but for the interim you can safely move to iOS 26 without risk of losing support.
