                  Hi Everyone,

We are in the process of installing a hypird PABX, the building is around 40 floors and the PABX will be located in basement, my question is :

- what is the limitation for the cables length?

1. Around 100 analog extensions distributed among the building

2. 250 digital ext.

3. the rest will be VOIP

Taking into consideration that there is a data center room on floor 27th, only for servers and core switches....

Thanks

M

Analogue lengths are usually measured in KMs or Miles.

2. 250 digital ext.

That will depend on the PBX system. As Cisco don't do phones like these, we can't help you here.

3. the rest will be VOIP

You'll be limited to normal ethernet cabling limits here.  But of coure, you can use fibre and switches to increase the distance enormously. (again, upto KMs/Miles)

1. Around 100 analog extensions distributed among the building  It should be ethernet cabling limits (100meters) applies for analog/digital extensions in relation with TDM PBX. However, the good design is to put the TDM PBX in middle instead of basement 1 with which you effectively can cover approx 25 floors (12 floors UP & 13 floors down).

2. 250 digital ext.

3. the rest will be VOIP

Taking into consideration that there is a data center room on floor 27th, only for servers and core switches....
