I have used the command line command "file delete license" to delete a bac license file tac issued me. After deleting the file I restarted the Cisco CallManager service.
The counts are still showing up though when I go to System / Licensing / License Unit Report
I have even got in and deleted all the license files, restarted the Publisher and tried uploading the correct files again. The system tells me the file has already been uploaded.
System version: 8.5.1.10000-26
Any one have any idea how to reset the license counts to default?
If I can reset to the defaults then I can upload the correct files again.

Hope this helps

Yes I tried restarting Cisco License Manager service on the Publisher and both subscribers. I even went so far as to reboot all 3 servers.
Still showing the incorrect numbers :-(
I'm looking through the bug tool kit now to see if I am hitting a bug.
Thanks for your responce Carlo!

Hi.
I think you should open a TAC to obtain root access to delete wrong licenseinfo entries from the CUCM DB.
Hope this helps.

Carlo

Yea, I did that last night shortly after I posted to the community. The engineer accepted the ticket then took a P2 case and could not assist me. I went ahead and requeued just now. When I try to run the delete command I get denied.
admin:run sql delete from licenseinfo where licfileid = '20111125154403413'
No DELETE permission for licenseinfo.
I'll update this thread with the resolution when i get one. Thanks again Carlo for your input!

Hi Del,
Looks like it may be this bug;
Description
Symptoms:
The DB entries are not removed after removing the license file via cli command
file delete license
Conditions:
This problem happens when there is only a license file uploaded in the server
and user removes the license file
Workaround:
user will need to remove the corresponding DB entries in licenseinfo table.
For performing this, TAC will need to be contacted.
Note CUP will also document this issue and declare CUP doesn't support valid
license removal through the CLI command. The only time that user needs to
remove the license file is a publisher rehost is performed and the original
license file becomes invalid. users will need to upload a new license file,
use this cli command to remove the invalid license file, then restart license
manager.

Thanks Rob, Not sure how I missed this one last night when I was searching through the bug tool kit myself. I'll blame it on the left over Turkey dinner sleepy eyes!

You are most welcome my friend!
Even without the leftover Turkey the Bug Toolkit can make your eyes

Final Resoltion by TAC:
**** TAC had to get root access and delete the license entrys in the database. ****
Thank you to Carlo for your suggestion to lookup the license files and compare that with what the database listed.
file list license *
run sql select * from licenseinfo
Thank you Rob for finding the bug ID CSCtc59039

hello,
We have CUCM 8.0.3 and we are running into the same situation. But, when we contact TAC, the engineer told us that as soon as he deletes all the entries from licenseinfo, the whole phone system will be down (all devices become 'unregistered'). And, there will be an major service interruption. He couldn't tell us how long the interruption will be 30 minutes, 1hr, ....
Could somebody provide me some information according to your experience? if there will be an service interruption, how long will it be?
Thanks in advance!

The license issue has been fix by TAC engineer, and the service interruption was less than 3 minutes (we have ~5000 phone devices).
