Hi

What does local-bypass do? I noticed this is something to do with hairpin/dsp etc. Thanks

Local by-pass allows local calls (calls between voice ports on a router or concentrator) to bypass (not use) the DSP to minimize use of system resources.

Thanks. Just use the following illustration to help me understand. Does that mean if we use bypass the dsp won't be used in the following cases:

1. call between analog 1 and anlog 2 not need dsp at all?

2. Hairpin

scenario1:

analog1-(fxs-r1-pri)-pstn-analog2

scenario2:

hairpin case: call coming into one pri from pstn and route back to pstn using the same pri.
