Local Route Group with Multiple countries 1 cluster and Ext Mobility

Hi,

We 1 x CUCM cluster that is going to have multiple cities (offices) all in different Asian  countries connected to this 1 CUCM cluster in Asia.

All users will be using Extension Mobility and some of these users will be travelling to the different locations and logging in with thier Device profiles.

The Complexity Id like to understand best how to set this up "call routing"

Im thinking we cant use local Route group

If we use local route group on device pool - The uers that roam to other countries wont be able to dial as thier dialing behaviour is being set in thier line CSS. There is overlapping PSTN patterns to access PSTN in different countries.

For Example A user travels

User travels to  Bangkok from Shanghai

When they get to bankok they login to local Device (Phone) and will be still be dialing like they are in Shanghai - If we have LRG on device pool the number they dial wont connect as either (no match on gateway, or Telco decline)

The call would be routed out Bangkoks LRG when they are dialing a local Shanghai number "Issue"

Whats the best way to design this - is LRG not an option anymore?

Thanks Alot for your assistance

You will need to do some form of globalisation for this to work. You will need to create a TP that will modify this local number to the fully qualified PSTN number. You can then create a xaltion rule in the local gateway to remove the additional digits added by the xlation pattern...The benefit of this is that when this user goes anywhere and dials this number the number will be routable by any of the local gateway in the sites since this is a fully routable number. The only place where the number will be dialled locally will be the users local gateway

Hi.

To allow mobile users to route outside calls to local gatway, a solution could be to use mobility group and mobility info, so that they can be recognized based on ip address on their client.

You can define many mobility info and mobility group as many are your locations and associate them to a mobility group.

Than associate a mobility group to the desired device pool.

Not sure how that will work - isnt that only really relevant for Media Resources when you roam localy in one Country

Can you ellaborate please?

So in this scanrio Im talking about

Assuming  users are retaining local dialing habbits (from their local office) when they roam to other City/Country

Example of call

If a user in Shanghai dials 0.888844444 for Travel information (whatever any number local)  when he/she is in Shanghai the call routes out local gateway. We match TP Globalise and send locally.

but when this user Go's to Bangkok and logs into to Physical phone in this office and Tries to Dial 0.888844444

Assuming using LRG the call will try to route Locally Out Bangkok GW as the bangkok phones are in BANK-DevicePool which is using LRG.

Would probably get redorder tome from Telco?

Hi.

Yes in  extension mobility environment, you can't use local route group if you want to route calls out from

Voice gateway of your original location.

In this case, you have to configure call routing based on line CSS  to select the correct VG
