local route groups and dialling outbound

Hi All

Can anyone tell me, how the outbound routing works,

we currently have a 9.@ route which points to our ISDN gateways to make outbound calls.

We have just had a new site which uses there own new Gateways, on the device pool it points to its own local route group with the new Gateways.

How is this routed if the 9.@ doesn't match for that site? does it look at the 9.@ route but send it to the gateway defined In the local route group?

cheers

Hi Carl,

It actually depends on how the configuration is. If you want to use the local route group first and then use the other ISDN gateway as the secondary option, you can create a Route list with the route group "Standard Local Route Group" as the first option and RG containing the other gateway as the second option in the list. If you have 9.@ route pattern pointed to this RL, then it will use the local RG pointed in the site's DP for all outbound calls.

But if you have 9.@ route directly pointed to your ISDN gateways, then that will be used and not the local RG pointed in the DP.
