We seem to have a problem losing the network cards on our MCS-7845s with the NC7782 NICs. They will all of the sudden report that the cable is disconnected and there is nothing you can do to get the connection active again. Anyone else having the same problem?

John,
I have't seen this problem, but it would be interesting to know:
1. How many MCS servers are affected?
2. When the problem happens, are all servers affected at the same time, or are are they affected at different times?
3. Are the affected servers plugged into different or the same LAN switch?
4. Which application and OS is installed on the affected servers?
5. How do you actually recover once the problem happens?
Regards,
Michael.

1. How many MCS servers are affected? At this point two.
2. When the problem happens, are all servers affected at the same time, or are are they affected at different times? Various times.
3. Are the affected servers plugged into different or the same LAN switch? Plugged into the same LAN switch. Tried different ports to no avail.
4. Which application and OS is installed on the affected servers? ICM 7.2.3
5. How do you actually recover once the problem happens? We haven't recovered yet. Waiting for HP to replace the system board.
Seems strange to me too, just started happening last week.

Thats interesting, John. So is the ICM functioning via the duplexed partner at the moment? Hope things get squared away promptly.
Regards,
Michael.

Hi John,
Could it be something related to electric power. Any power changes or surges observed?
And is this happening on servers connected to a specific switch?
