Message Indicator for 8845 phone

I have a 8845 phone with a line that is cfw to voicemail using CUCM 11.5.  The MWI for the line does not show unless you take the line off of forward.  My 7841 phone will indicate a voicemail while CFW is in place, but not the 8845?  Not talking the red handset indicator, but the line label indicator.

Does the light on the handset show if you dial the message waiting ON  DN?

The line does indicate a voicemail as long as it is not forwarded.  As soon as you forward the line, the indicator disappears. A 7841 phone does indicate a VM using the same line when it is cfw.  It is an issue with the 8800 phones it seems.
