MGCP fractional PRI to full PRI

Hello NetPro,

What are the commands needed to change an existing fractional mgcp pri only using 1-4,24 , to a full pri using 1-23,24. ?

I believe i need to first shut down the controller,

Conf t , controller t1 0/2/0, shutdown

then commands :

no pri-group timeslots 1-4,24 service mgcp

then

pri-group timeslots 1-23 service mgcp.

once thats done, then do command

Conf t , controller t1 0/2/0, no shutdown

then

NO mgcp

Is this correct ? am i missing anything ? do i need to turn off  interface Serial0/2/0:23 also ?

Turn off also the Serial and the voice-port 0/2/0:23

the you should be fine.

First of all partial PRI was never supported with MGCP, with that said your steps are accurate, plus there are service parameters on CUCM that need to be adjusted, don't recall the names out of top of my head.

The parameters are:

Change B-Channel Maintenance Status

with full PRI they should be blank, they are under service parameters -> CUCM -> Device-PRI and MGCP GW

These settings are blank. We also have 2 other full pri's terminating on this gateway.

Even the partial pri works fine, just only 4 channels and we want to use the entire pri.

OK, then just change the controller to have pri-timeslots 1-24 and that's it.
