Requesting the community assistance with an issue I'm having with MGCP registration. When the router is booted up it may get 1 or 2 succesful download. The registration status on the router says unregistered - call manager says unknown.
Then I would do a no mgcp/mgcp then it will download some more files then stops. At that point call manager says rejected or they will register then unregister. All that time in the router says registered. After doing that a few times and shut/no shut on the voice port in the router, the ports in call manager will stay registered after a few resets.
It won't register on its own unless you give it a kick in the pants by restarting mgcp. Can someone pleas assist me with that?
On the router we're using version: Version 15.1(4)M8
Thanks,

Hi,
Can you have a look at this old link - still relevant re the mgcp to domain name relationship

If the gateway gets registered without making any changes to the config by simply bouncing MGCP then you should gather the output of "debug mgcp packets" when the issue is experiencing as it will provide info on why the registration is failing. The show tech from the gateway is also needed.
