Hi All,
We are currently using CUCM V8.5.1
We have recently setup a gateways (Cisco 2901) that connects to a third party CTI server.
For resilience we have this setup duplicated in a DR comms room.
Each of our gateways are full MGCP controlled with a digital 30 channel PRI card that is connected to the 3rd party CTI server.
The company that oversees the 3rd party CTI server, that also has 30 channels, have split the channels in half - half of which are for incoming calls and the other half for outgoing calls.
We have looked to see if this is possible to split our channels in this way to mirror the 3rd party CTI server. (15 channels for incoming and 15 for outgoing as we currently have 30 for incoming/outgoing). I have seen reference to splitting channels on the Cisco gateway if using H323 - but we would prefer to continue using the MGCP setup.
Any assistance on this this would be appreciated.
Martin

Even with h323 you can only choose channels in the outbound direction. For inbound calls you cant influence that because your Telco decided which channel calls will arrive on. There is no way you can choose this yourself

ISDN & MGCP is an all-or-nothing affair. Either MGCP uses all 30 channels for incoming & outgoing, or it uses none.

Why a rating of "3" to the answer above, that 100% correct and made with the will to help? Out of frustration perhaps, not having heard what you wanted ?
To partially compensate, I've rated the answer for what what is worth - check it out.
